It has no plastic parts - no HPBA, no thermoplastic smell for the 1st three uses, etc. It's all metal! Put it on a timer, it's so much better than drip and as convenient due to the timer. Coffee is hot, it brews real fast compared to my Mom's 40year old CorningWare (for which I lost the cord and would still be using today because no coffee maker comes close to the ceramic CorningWare perc pots) it looks very elegant on my counter, it's easy to clean, best of all - the coffee is fantastic and not burned or overcooked. Lots cheaper than FarberWare although I haven't used one of those 'cuz theyre expensive and I'm cheap.

I waited a few years to write this review. I use this coffee percolator 2-3 times a week. It makes nice coffee and I like the very fine holes in the coffee basket - it takes longer to brew but the taste is richer.
I had a recent with the cord (photo). I started noticing sparks as I plugged it in to the percolator and it overheated. There is no screw to tighten it up and I was afraid to continue using it.
I reached out to the manufacturer, Presto, and we had a series of interactions. It turns out that the plug had rust/corrosion, and evidence of water exposure. I need to be more careful keeping that area dry.
They offered me a great discount and more than fair deal on a replacement percolator, which I accepted. Great customer service - can;t wait for my new (replacement) one to arrive!

Nothing to dislike,it brews a great cup of coffee,with the tried and true percolator brew method.Ok, it may take a couple minutes longer to brew,and I'm sure many will run the other way because they are only interested in a quick cup of coffee from the k-cup method of brewing. That to me, is the big difference,the water is in contact with the grounds longer with the percolator brew system and that gives a far superior tasting cup of coffee. This coffee pot is very well built ,not flimsy or thin at all. Should you use a finer grind than a percolator grind there are little disc type paper filters that fit into the grounds basket to keep from getting any grounds in your coffee. I simply grind my coffee a few seconds less to achieve that heavier grind,and those little filters are not necessary at all. If you grind at the store just get the percolator grind. So far I have brewed 37 pots of coffee with this unit and it has worked flawlessly everytime. I believe this unit will last in excess of 10 years or more. That's just my educated guess,but there is no reason why it shouldn't last even longer.Great tasting cup of coffee from this coffee pot.
